Sunfest in Castlegar, BC

Wow, what a fantastic weekend, performing at Sunfest in Castelgar this weekend with my band The Hip Show. We had a long drive out there as a band on Friday in the rental van, and came across 2 severe accidents along the way - which delayed our arrival by a couple of hours - but we made it there safely on Friday evening, the night before our performance.

We ended up staying at Selkirk College dorms, which was just fine by all of as, as we all able to enjoy our own rooms. There's not much else there to do on campus other than rest and go for walks, so hanging out on Saturday before soundcheck was relaxing. I am currently training for Tough Mudder this month, so I enjoyed a good 10km run through the trails alongside the river.

We got to Kingsman Park at about 5pm, setup and played at about 6pm until 8pm. The show was fun, and lively, and we were accompanied by many dancers, both young and old.

At the end of the show, we ate, and made our way back to our dorms, and got to enjoy the fireworks in full display from the best vantage point ever!

There was also a fantastic review written about our performace in the online Castlegar News. Thank you so much John White for the great write-up, You can read what he has to say here: https://www.castlegarnews.com/entertainment/the-hip-shows-sunfest-tribute-worthy-of-canadas-rock-royalty/
