Norfolk, Virginia to Elizabeth City, North Carolina
First day down. Started out a little rough cause I inadvertently got on the interstate leaving Norfolk. I tried to exit but it put me on another interstate which made matters sorta worse. I pulled over to try to figure out my options and how to back track - right about the same time a police car pulled over to give me grief. He was kind enough to escort me while driving backwards so I could cross the interstate, and exit on the other side.
Once I got settled on the 17 south, things went very smoothly. There was a very heavy head wind I had to deal with all day, but I guess the trade off is that the route is more or less flat. I guess I'm gonna have to get used to the wind in my face.
