Pacific Coast Cycling Tour 2013 - Day 3 Santa Cruz - Monterey

have a confession. I've been sick for the last couple of weeks. This morning was the worst. I did find a great spot for breakfast, albeit I didn't actually get up until 10:00 am. I was on the road by 11, and just pushed myself to carry on.

Most of they day was through farmers fields and back roads. This must be artichoke country, cause everywhere u look, is an artichoke sign, or deep fried artichokes. I didn't try any. I couldn't believe the number of Mexican berry pickers and farmers, who all seem to drive nice cars, by the look of all the parked cars on the side of the road.

It was also much hotter inland than on the coast. I kinda roasted most of the day. Farmers tan coming along nicely.

When I woke up, both my GoPro and remote batteries were dead, despite having charged them fully the night before. Not sure what happened there, but I didn't get any video today. It was nice to hit the coast again towards Monterey, where I pulled over and rested seaside.

I got to Monterey at about 4:30, and slept for an hour and a half. By the time I woke up, it was dark. Dinner and back to bed. Bit of a ho hum day. Big Sur tomorrow. Shorter day in distance, but a big climb. The lodge I'm staying at has no tv, or internet. Maybe that's a good thing.
